It All Started with a Family Vacation to Lake Willoughby in 1994

We came to Vermont in 1994 for a family vacation with our then 5 children in tow. Bill had vacationed at Lake Willoughby as a child and had wanted to take me here. We had lived on a small lake in Massachusetts so had always appreciated the water, but as we came from the North over the hill near Route 58, the beauty of THIS lake took my breath away.

Purchased the Property in 1998

A few years later, after our 6th child and a very busy life – we decided to sell everything and move to Vermont, to the Northeast Kingdom. We rented for a year in Barton, and in 1998 were able to realize our hopes of buying property on Lake Willoughby, that wonderful property being Green Acres Cabins.  With 4 daughters and 2 sons we had the manpower to help with all the necessary work to be done.

Sharing our Piece of Paradise with Others

Our children are now grown and the clean, clear water, the trees, the fresh air and our large lawn have provided them with memories for a lifetime.  We are fortunate they all remain close, as Lake Willoughby is now part of who they are.  We love being part of the Green Acres’ story and want to continue to share our “piece of paradise” with other families, couples or individuals so they too may experience Lake Willoughby.
