The Private Beach at Green Acres Cabins

Just Across the Street from the Cabins

Green Acres Cabins’ private 50-foot beach front is conveniently located across the street from the Mainhouse and Cabins. Our location on the east side of Lake Willoughby provides beautiful panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains with full sun from early in the day into evening when the sun sets.

Swim or Bask in the Sun

Relish your time in and around the water by swimming, boating or basking in the sun on our natural sandy beach. The gradual slope of the private beach area allows for easy entry into the pristine waters of Lake Willoughby. Though the bottom is rocky (bring your water shoes);  it is oh so very refreshing, clean and clear. Enjoy one of the cleanest lakes in Vermont, where you can see the bottom.

Picnic or Play Games

Green Acres’ beach lot also has a large grassy area perfect for lawn games for the kids or for laying out blankets in the sun. Picnic tables are provided to enjoy a wonderful summer lunch or a sunset picnic along our spectacular shore of Lake Willoughby.

Bring Your Boat

Bring your kayaks, canoes, small sail boats, and paddle boards and launch from our private beach. But please leave your jet skis at home as they are not permitted on Lake Willoughby.
Rules now mandate that one must have a life jacket and a whistle when boating, so please come prepared.

You are also welcome to bring a motor boat as there is a public boat ramp just down the street from the cabins. However motor boats can not be left on the lake overnight due to the possibility of damage from rough waters, so would need to be taken in and out of the water each day. There is plenty of space to park a boat and trailer at Green Acres.

Perfect for a Lake Willoughby Wedding

Planning a wedding? Say your “I dos” on the beach!  Rent the full property and have a beach wedding and celebrate with friends at Green Acres. It’s ideal for events up to 100 guests with overnight accommodations for up to 25.
